So what exactly is a Social Archive? (Or in this case: OurKive.) Perhaps the easiest way to explain is
to tell you what we're not: another social network with all the bells, bustle, and chatter you can handle -
and sometimes more.
Instead, WereYouThere is a lively and at times moving conversation about the people, places, and events that shape our lives, from a recent vacation or concert to a battle waged a generation ago. Besides being a great way to meet people, it's also a perfect opportunity to share many of the stories that might otherwise remain untold, whether captured in an old letter, a travel video, an audio interview with a grandparent or a faded photograph. Put simply, our mission is two-fold: to create a meaningful context in which to form and renew relationships while building a valuable repository of life experiences for students, historians, and anyone interested in better understanding the world around us.
